Chinked-style is an option you can consider, but 100% of our log home shells are handmade, & the notches and grooves are scribed and cut by craftsmen, not by machines. That's why we call ourselves "Natural Log Homes." We use only large (360mm average diameter) , naturally-shaped logs for our log home kitsets. 100% of our logs come from sustainable plantations in "Clean, Green" New Zealand. In fact, we are one of the only log home companies offering the option of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified-sustainable trees -- that's the most environmentally sensitive log home you can get. Mould, Manager, Natural Log Homes, Limited (NZ) Graeme has been building handcrafted log homes for more than 16 years -- many of those as the manager and owner of South Island Log Homes, Ltd. He has built log projects large and small, simple and complex, commercial and residential, in New Zealand and Australia, including the massive Fiordland Lodge in Te Anau, New Zealand. For many years Graeme has been the tutor for hands-on courses offered by the Log Builders Association of New Zealand, and he is the current NZ Association President. 	Robert W. Chambers, Manager, Natural Log Homes LLC (USA) With more than twenty three years of experience in the handcrafted log building industry in the United States, Robert Chambers is a world-renowned log builder, author, inventor and instructor. Since graduating from the Mackie School of Log Building (Canada) in 1983, Robert has gone on to teach log building workshops and courses around the globe in Australia, Latvia, Russia, United States, Canada, and New Zealand. Most of the hundreds of students who have benefited from his workshops have gone on to build their own log homes, and many are now professional log home builders. Robert is also author of the best-selling how-to book, the Log Construction Manual. Robert holds international patents for his revolutionary handcrafted building methods.
